# Protostar AI

## What it does

- Anonymize before egress: sensitive identifiers (names, SSNs, MRNs, emails, phone numbers, and
  more) are removed before a request reaches an external model, then restored inside the boundary.
- Tiered routing by data sensitivity: regulated data stays on a self-hosted model with no egress;
  only de-identified, non-regulated data may use frontier models.
- Per-tenant API keys, usage and cost metering, and an auditable trail.
